Police

The Dubuque Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Dubuque, Iowa, headquartered in the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center at 770 Iowa Street. This building is also home to the Emergency Communications Center, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, and the Dubuque County Jail.

The Dubuque Police Department has an authorized strength of 109 sworn officers and nine civilian employees. It is organized into five divisions:

  • Administration & Staff Services
  • Patrol
  • Community Oriented Policing
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Records

Within those divisions there are numerous special initiatives and functions, with all members of the department continually striving to serve and protect members of the community in accordance with the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.
