Overview
The Dubuque Police Records Division is located at 855 Central Avenue, and also functions as the Records Division for the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office. Reports for both agencies can be obtained from this location.

The Records Division can be contacted in person or by phone at 563-589-4443 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Criminal Background Checks
The Records Division handles landlord requests for criminal background checks of prospective tenants. Landlords seeking assistance with mandatory background checks or the tenant database can obtain additional information by viewing the Landlord Services page.
Others needing a local criminal background check (Dubuque County only) can obtain one at no charge.
Criminal background checks are available online for all of Iowa’s 99 counties at no charge at Iowa Courts Online.
Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting is offered by the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office and is scheduled through the Records Division. Call 563-589-4443 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
