The City of Dubuque offers a wide range of seasonal opportunities for individuals ages 15 and up! From lifeguarding at Flora and Sutton Pools, assisting at Bunker Hill Golf Course, working with the Recreation Division, or helping at the Port of Dubuque Marina, there’s a position for every interest. Summer Academic Advocate
May 27, 2025 – August 2, 2025 (10 Week Contract)
300 Hours Contract - Minimum of 35 hours/week
Living Allowance Total: $3,900 ($780 every 2 weeks over 10 weeks)
Education Award: $1,565.08
The Academic Advocate will develop and lead Future-Ready programming for high school students at the Multicultural Family Center, while also engaging junior high students in similar activities. This position focuses on building relationships with disadvantaged youth and their families, connecting their talents and interests to potential careers, and creating sustainable support systems within the community. Summer Playground Enrichment Specialist
May 27, 2025 – August 2, 2025 (10 Week Contract)
300 Hours Contract - Minimum of 35 hours/week
Living Allowance Total: $3,900 ($780 every 2 weeks over 10 weeks)
Education Award: $1,565.08
The Summer Playground Enrichment Specialists are a team of AmeriCorps Members that will serve at rotating locations to provide enrichment activities to underserved youth in Dubuque. Members will develop activities around Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Music, and Math and deliver the activities to youth between the ages of 7 – 12. Learn more.
Summer Teen Empowerment Specialist
May 27, 2025 – August 2, 2025 (10 Week Contract)

The AmeriCorps Summer Teen Empowerment Specialists are a team of AmeriCorps Members that serve in two teams at the Multicultural Family Center, in the Summer Teen Empowerment Program (STEP) and the Summer Teen Empowerment Nights (STEN). These members serve alongside MFC Staff (Teen Empowerment Coordinator & Teen Night Manager) and Full-Time AmeriCorps Members (the Teen Engagement Specialist, Teen Creativity Specialist & Academic Advocate) to provide community engagement and skill-building programming. Pool Manager
