Adult Athletics
The Recreation Division offers adult athletic leagues, including softball, basketball, and volleyball. All of the leagues are designed to be recreational and fun. However, in order to keep games competitive and fair, the leagues are classified into different divisions. Teams register for the division of their choice.

2026 Summer Softball
Registration Now Open
Men’s, women’s, and coed softball leagues are offered Sunday through Friday in the summer. Games will begin the week of Sunday, April 26, with a 12-game season. All games are played at McAleece Park & Recreation Complex. Game times vary and are played at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., or 8 p.m., unless specified. Any special scheduling requests must be made before the registration deadline. Once the schedule is set, changes will not be made.

Important Information for Tuesday and Wednesday Leagues Only
- The Tuesday, Men's "C" and Wednesday coed leagues will not have paid umpires.
- The leagues will be umpired by players within the league.
- Home team of the 6 p.m. game will provide 2 umpires for the 7 p.m. game.
- Home team of the 7 p.m. game will provide 2 umpires for the 6 p.m. game.
- Away team of the 7 p.m. game will provide 2 umpires for the 8 p.m. game.
Resident Team Fee: $540 per team
Non-resident Team Fee: $565 per team
Tuesday Men's "C" League Fee: $360 per team
Wednesday Mixed League Fee: $360 per team
To be considered a resident team 50% of your roster must reside within Dubuque city limits.

Adult volleyball leagues are offered Monday through Thursday in the summer. All leagues will begin the week of May 6, with a 12-match season. All matches will be played at Flora Park. Game times will be at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Resident Team Fee: $210 per team
Non-resident Team Fee: $235 per team

Men's Basketball
Men's basketball leagues are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays in fall/winter. All leagues begin in early November, and are played at Roosevelt Middle School. There is a maximum of 7 teams per league. All teams will receive a 12-game regular season. The top 4 teams from each league will automatically qualify for an end-of-the-season tournament.
Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament
Each year, the Recreation Division hosts an Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament. The tournament is open for high school graduates of Hempstead, Senior, Wahlert, East Dubuque, and Western Dubuque high schools. Learn more about the alumni basketball tournament!
