Pickleball Rules and Guidelines
- Park Hours: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Courts are for intended sports only. No other uses are permitted.
- Courts are open to the public for drop-in play on a first-come, first-served basis during all hours except during events permitted by the City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department.
- All courts are open to all skill levels.
- Some or all courts may be reserved for organized play by the City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department.
- Prohibited items on courts surface: Pets, glass containers, food, outdoor chairs, bikes, skateboards, scooters and roller blades.
- Show common courtesy for all players and spectators.
- Profane language is prohibited.
During peak times when all courts are being used and players are waiting to play:
- Court time will be shared equally.
- No singles (1 vs. 1)
- Waiting players will place their paddle in the saddle from left to right.
- Court time limited to two games to 11, win by 1.
- Exit court immediately after game(s).
- To play again, place your paddle in the first available opening in the saddle.
- When the court is open, next up is the next paddle in the slot sequence from left to right.
- Warm-up time is limited to 5 minutes.
How do I play as a single?
- Place your paddle in the next available slot in the saddle or in a slot holding less than 4 paddles.
- Once 4 paddles are in the slot, that group is now part of the slot sequence.
