[ARCHIVED] CALEA PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION UPDATE

The Dubuque Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will administer the on-site assessment and the program requires agencies to comply with internationally accepted, state-of-the-are standards of professionalism in four primary areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the on-site assessment members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Monday April 19, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. in the third floor conference room at the Carnegie Stout Public Library.

Please be advised that the Carnegie-Stout Public Library is currently undergoing renovations and will not be handicap accessible at the time of this public information session. If you are planning to attend, and required such assistance, please contact Corporal Steve Eastvedt at the Dubuque Police Department at 563-589-7889 as soon as possible to make appropriate arrangements.

You are also invited to offer comments by calling 563-587-3820 on Monday, April 19, 2010 between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. Comments will be taken by the assessment team.

Thank you for your continued support of our community in general and the police department specifically.
