The City is conducting a public information meeting to provide an overview of the Historic Millwork District Master Plan.

The City is conducting a public information meeting to provide an overview of the Historic Millwork District Master Plan.

This meeting will be held on April 14, 2010 from 6-8 PM in the Council Chambers (2nd Floor) of the Historic Federal Building which is located at 350 W. 6th St., Dubuque,Iowa 52001

In February, 2009, the City Council adopted the Historic Millwork District Master Plan, a project that involves the utilization of 1 million square feet of underdeveloped space in the areas of: Jackson Street, Washington Street, Elm St from approximately E. 5th to W. 12th and E. 7th, E. 8th, W. 9th, W. 10th, W. 11th from approximately Elm St. to Main St.

As a property owner and/or a resident in this Millwork District, the City is conducting a public information meeting to provide an overview of this exciting project and to seek input on how this neighborhood can be “transformed” into an area where citizens can live, work, and plan in a common area.

The meeting will focus on the:
-Overview of the Historic Millwork District Master Plan: Rebuilding the district streets with high-quality streetscapes (street pavement and curbs, along a sustainable sidewalk system); modern utilities (replacement of sanitary sewer,storm sewer,water main and water services);on-street parking; artistic elements (landscaping or stations for public art); and stormwater management features.
-Project timeline.
-Project funding.
