[ARCHIVED] Adaptive Sports Open Gym Programs - TONIGHT (April 18th)

Leisure Services attempts to provide activities for mentally/physically challenged members of the community. Recreational experiences may include physical/social/creative activities, as well as, special events designed specifically for this population.


In addition, the Leisure Services Department encourages all community members that may have a disability to participate in programs, and all attempts shall be made to accommodate the individual. If you are interested in registering for any of our programs, you may register online at www.cityofdubuque.org/recreation. (NOTE: A small convenience fee is charged by the hosting company. This fee is non-refundable). Registrations are also accepted by mail, email to parkrec@cityofdubuque.org, fax to 563-589-4391 or in-person.

The Leisure Services Department is sponsoring FREE Adaptive Sports Open Gym programs.  Learn about all of the possibilities of Adaptive Sports in a fun non-competitive, yet challenging environment.  Each month we will feature one sport where participants will be taught the fundamentals of the sport.  Target population is children and adults who have a physical disability and who want to learn how to play adaptive sports.  This program is open to EVERYONE, whether you have a disability or not, and all ages are welcome.  Bring your family and friends!


There are a limited number of sports chairs available.  Please contact Aulanda for more information at 563-495-1575.  


NOTE:  Featured sports are subject to change.  


WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL at Roosevelt Middle School, Center Court TONIGHT (Tuesday, April 18th) from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
