[ARCHIVED] Police Investigating Gunshot Injury

On Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, at 9:25 a.m., Dubuque Police responded to the Key Apartments located at 444 Angella Street, on the report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

Upon arrival, officers located the man, later identified as Phillip G. Wilson Jr., 20, of 1690 White Street #4, Dubuque, sitting outside on the steps of the apartment building, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. Wilson alleged he had been shot approximately a ½ hour earlier, but police received minimal cooperation from him. Based on the ongoing investigation thus far, there are no indications the general public is in any danger pertaining to this incident. Wilson was initially transported to Mercy Hospital and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospital. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
