[ARCHIVED] IDOT Project Impacts Intersection of Locust Street and Charter Street

Repairs to the northbound exit ramp from U.S. 52/61/151 to U.S. 20 will impact the intersection of the Locust St. (northbound ramp) and Charter St. from Monday, Sept. 21 to Saturday, Sept. 26. The work will be done one lane at a time to maintain traffic.


FULL ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Iowa Department of Transportation is planning to repair sections of pavement on the northbound exit ramp from U.S. 52/61/151 to U.S. 20. The work will include removing concrete pavement through the intersection of the Locust Street (northbound ramp) and Charter Street. The work will be done one lane at a time to maintain traffic. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept 21 and be completed by Saturday, Sept 26.

Impact to Traffic:
The ramp should remain open as a single lane to thru traffic; however the intersection with Charter Street will be closed to all turning traffic. The remaining two access points to the business plaza that are not signalized will remain open. Traffic may also access the business plaza from U.S. 61 on Jones Street and Main Street. The attached map indicates the affected intersection and surrounding streets. Motorists intending to access the business plaza are encouraged to seek alternate entrances.
