[ARCHIVED] Man Struck by Train Identified

On Saturday, August 29th, 2015, at 9:32 p.m., Dubuque Police responded to the railroad tracks near Key City Recycling (3260 Dodge Street) after railroad police called to report a person struck by a train.

Upon arrival, officers determined the person was deceased and later identified him as Samuel D. Bettcher, 23, of 2885 Brunskill Road, Dubuque. Bettcher’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy. No additional information or details will be released until the State Medical Examiner completes the autopsy and provides an official report.
