[ARCHIVED] Fall 2009 Leisure Programs

Our Fall 2009 Leisure Programs are available and registration has begun! See below for some of our programs that are available:

Just for Kids. Children ages 3-5 will experience the fun of learning using music, art, language, movement and much more. Let the Leisure Services Department enhance your child’s other preschool (if attending one), expand their knowledge, and of course have fun! Just for Kids classes are held at the Allison-Henderson Center, 1500 Loras Boulevard. Session II is from October 13th through November 5th, and Session III is from November 10th through December 8th (no class on November 26th). Register your child for one or two sessions from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Fee is $50 per session.

Playtime for Tots at Comiskey Center or St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. This special Uptown Recreation Program is a 5-day program for preschool aged children, ages 3-5 (not enrolled in kindergarten). Session I started on September 8th and concludes on October 30th; Session II begins on November 2nd – December 18th. Morning session is held at the Comiskey Center from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; afternoon session is held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Dog Training Classes. The Leisure Services Department is sponsoring Dog Training Classes held on Saturday mornings at the Bergfeld Recreation Area, Seippel Road and Chavenelle Drive. Classes began on September 12th and conclude on October 17th for Basic Obedience Class and/or Intermediate Obedience Class. Fee is $25.

Are you interested in swimming lessons? The Leisure Services Department is sponsoring swimming lessons for ages 1-3 and 6+. Aquatots is a class for ages 1-3, where a parent and child can share in the water experience! Classes are held on Sunday afternoons from 4:15-4:45 p.m. at Hempstead High School through November 8th. Swimming lessons for age 6 and older are also held at Hempstead High School on Sunday afternoons at 1:30, 2:10, 2:50 and 3:30 p.m. through November 8th. (OPENINGS AVAILABLE ONLY AT 2:10 AND 2:50 P.M.)
