[ARCHIVED] SUMMER LEARNING BINGO ENDS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 15TH

The Leisure Services Department is promoting summer learning and raising awareness of the 'summer slide', the City of Dubuque's Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, which has created the Summer Learning BINGO game.

The BINGO game began in April with the release of our 2014 Summer brochures and is scheduled to end on Friday, August 15th with a drawing for "Family Fun" prize packages.

There are a total of twenty (20) BINGO activities to encourage families to Read, Explore, Ask and Answer Questions and DO fun learning projects together. Even though the deadline is fast approaching, there is still time to get your name into the drawing and "Climb the Summer Slide".

BINGO cards can be picked up at the following locations: Multicultural Family Center; Carnegie-Stout Public Library; Leisure Services Department; Kennedy Mall and all Hy-Vee locations.

To be entered for a chance to win a "Family Fun" prize package, please drop off your completed forms to the Multicultural Family Center or the Leisure Services Department. Winners will be notified on Monday, August 18th.

The Summer Learning BINGO is an AmeriCorps VISTA project in coordination with Dubuque's Campaign for Grade-Level Reading to raise awareness of the 'summer slide' and ways to prevent learning loss over the summer months.

For more information, please contact Stacy Seyer, AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Learning Coordinator at 563-589-4263 or email at sseyer@cityofdubuque.org.
