[ARCHIVED] Dubuque PD Seeking Bids on 8 Vehicles

The Dubuque Police Department is seeking bids for the disposal of seven (7) police patrol vehicles and one (1) City Administration vehicle.

The Dubuque Police Department is seeking bids for the disposal of seven (7) police patrol vehicles and one (1) City Administration vehicle.

The vehicles can be inspected by making an appointment with Corporal Cory Sommer, 563-589-4410, at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center. Information about the condition of the vehicles is included with this notice. All vehicles will be sold together and will NOT be sold separately. Bids are due by noon, September 16th, 2013. The winning bidder will be notified by September 18th, 2013. The winning bidder will be required to make final payment & take delivery on or before October 1st, 2013.

Vehicles #1 - #6 are 2011 Police Package Chevrolet Impalas with 3.9L V-6 engines. All vehicles are white in color with aluminum center hub covers. All vehicles have driver’s side spotlights. Interiors are dark grey with cloth front bucket seats and vinyl rear bench seats. All interiors are in good condition with some equipment mounting holes in the dash. Vehicle #7 is a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD, 5.3 liter, power windows/locks, cruise, white with grey interior. Vehicle #8 is a 2003 Chrysler Sebring 4DR, 2.7 liter engine, AC, power windows and locks AM-FM-CD. This vehicle is grey with grey cloth interior. Vehicles #1 - #7 are E85 fuel compliant.

VEHICLE DAMAGE INFORMATION

Some vehicles have mounting holes for police radios in the dashboard. All police vehicles have mounting marks and plugged holes on roofs from light bars. Some vehicles have paint chipping on rear bumpers from decal removal. All vehicle bodies are in good shape with average wear equal to the mileage. Most interiors are in good/fair condition, with some additional wear on the driver’s seats and carpeting. All cars have chrome center hubs on the wheels. Rear windows and door handles are disabled in all police vehicles.


OTHER DAMAGE

Car #1 Needs new battery.

Car #5 Dent on lower half of right/rear passenger door.

Car #8 Large dent in right/rear passenger door, scrape marks also on right side, front bumper cover is torn and needs replaced. Overall condition of this vehicle (with exception of the damaged side) is consistent with its age and mileage.

The City of Dubuque reserves the right to keep, and not sell any of the vehicles described in this disposal notice, if suitable sale prices are not offered, or other circumstances arise that dictate the need to retain any or all of the vehicles.

When submitting a bid, please list the bid amount for each vehicle Separately, with the total dollar bid at the bottom of your bid submission sheet.

The City of Dubuque reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Upon being notified that their bid has been accepted, the successful bidder will be required to pay ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. This payment must be made within five (5) business days to the City of Dubuque, and will be deposited into the City’s bank account. If this does not occur, the vehicles will be sold to the next highest bidder.
