[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: U.S. 52/61/151 Lane Closures Postponed Until Sunday Night

Due to Thursday's rain, the Iowa Department of Transportation has postponed the bridge girder placement scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22, until Sunday night, Aug. 25. The project will require lane closures on U.S. 52/61/151 beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The nighttime work will require intermittent traffic stoppages on both the northbound and southbound lanes of US 52/61/151 starting at 9 p.m. Sunday night. Flaggers will be in-place and motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area of temporary traffic control. Placement of the bridge girders is expected to be completed by midnight.

This Iowa DOT project includes reconstruction of U.S. 52/61/151 from the Grandview interchange to the U.S. 52 intersection, the replacement of both existing bridges spanning Catfish Creek, installation of a median barrier, and improvements at the U.S. 52 intersection with U.S. 61/151.
