[ARCHIVED] Plugged Pipe Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A plugged sanitary sewer pipe located on York Street caused untreated wastewater to flow onto the street.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified by the public of the manhole overflow around 8:40 a.m. today. Crews were dispatched to the area and had the plug removed from the pipe by 9:45 a.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
