By utilizing grant funding obtained through the Dubuque Police Department’s partnership with Helping Services for Northeast Iowa, officers will be conducting special foot/vehicular patrols and enforcement specifically focused on underage, alcohol-related, social gatherings. This project will span several weeks, with officers being increasingly vigilant for gatherings that appear to promote social disorder, underage/excessive alcohol consumption, disturbing the peace, and similar issues.

The project was developed as part of the above agencies’ ongoing effort to address underage alcohol consumption, social disorder, illegal activity, and the danger often associated with these springtime celebrations: high school & college graduations, end of school year/semester/finals celebrations, etc. While these momentous occasions are certainly worthy of recognition and celebration, the Dubuque Police and Helping Services strive to ensure these activities are safe and legal.
