[ARCHIVED] Dubuque Police Investigate Shooting Incident

On April 8th, 2013, at 11:57 a.m., Dubuque Police and Fire Departments responded to 555 ½ West Locust Street on the report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

On April 8th, 2013, at 11:57 a.m., Dubuque Police and Fire Departments responded to 555 ½ West Locust Street on the report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located Mykel McLaurin, 25, of the above address, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. McLaurin was transported to the hospital where he is still being treated at the time of this release. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening. The discharge of the firearm appears to have been unintentional, however the investigation remains active. Authorities do not believe the general public is in any danger pertaining to this incident.
