[ARCHIVED] Authorities Investigate Suspicious Structure Fire

On Monday, January 28th, 2013, at 8:20 p.m., Dubuque Fire and Police Departments responded to 1420 Central Avenue #2 for a structure fire.

On Monday, January 28th, 2013, at 8:20 p.m., Dubuque Fire and Police Departments responded to 1420 Central Avenue #2 for a structure fire. The resident, Donald R. Sheldon, 46, was located outside suffering from burn injuries. He was initially transported to Mercy Hospital and later to the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics where he remains a patient. Investigators believe a second individual injured in the fire fled from the residence and was not immediately located. The fire is believed to be suspicious as materials consistent with methamphetamine production were recovered. Investigators with the Dubuque Fire Department and Dubuque Drug Task Force continue to investigate.
