PUBLIC INPUT FOR Solid Waste Diversion Options Study REQUESTED

MEDIA CONTACT: Bev Wagner, DMASWA Education Coordinator, 563-588-7933 or Beverly.wagner@loras.edu

The Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (DMASWA) is seeking your input on ways to reduce the amount of materials being buried in the Dubuque Metro Landfill.

Currently, many materials being landfilled could be repaired, composted or recycled. If appropriately diverted from the landfill, these materials can instead provide resources, revenue, and green jobs to the local economy.

Residents and businesses are invited to one of three opportunities for a presentation and discussion to gather input for the Solid Waste Diversion Options Study being conducted to help our community become more sustainable.
• Tuesday, April 7th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Dubuque County Extension Office, 14858 West Ridge Lane
• Wednesday, April 8th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Dubuque Municipal Services Center, 925 Kerper Court
• Thursday, April 9th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Arizona Room of the Loras College Alumni Campus Center

An additional opportunity for discussion and input will be at the City of Dubuque Expo at the Five Flags Civic Center on Tuesday, April 14th, between 5 and 8 p.m.

For more information, contact the DMASWA Education Coordinator at (563) 588-7933.
