[ARCHIVED] City Expo 2009: Building a Sustainable Dubuque

The City of Dubuque will hold its annual City Expo on Tuesday, April 14, from 5-8 p.m. in the Five Flags Civic Center at 405 Main Street. Admission is free and all Dubuque residents are invited to attend.

City Expo is designed to educate Dubuque residents about city programs, services, and resources. The theme of this year’s Expo is “City Expo 2009: Building a Sustainable Dubuque.” City department and division booths and displays will reflect this theme through demonstrations, equipment, and informational materials. Additionally, this year’s event will feature a special display on Eagle Point Park in recognition of the park’s 100th anniversary this year. Expo attendees will also have the opportunity to register to win a 55-gallon rain barrel to collect and store rain water to use for economic or environmental reasons.

City Expo is a free, annual event that features activities and demonstrations designed for visitors of all ages. Dubuque residents are encouraged to bring their entire family. In an effort to reduce the use of plastic bags and support the City’s sustainability efforts, people who plan to attend are encouraged to bring their own bag.
