On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, the City of Dubuque will be moving the Historic White Water Creek Bridge from its current Fillmore, Iowa, location to the Bergfeld Recreation Area in the Dubuque Industrial Center West.
Beginning at approximately 8:00 AM, the bridge move will follow the following route: north on Whitewater Drive, east on North Gauge Road, north on Curoe Road, north on Highway 151, north on County Road Y21 (Sundown Road), east on Highway 20, north on Seippel Road to Chavenelle Drive.
The City of Dubuque and the Dubuque County Sherriff’s Office encourages drivers to avoid this route between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. County Road Y21 (Sundown Road) between Highway 151 and Highway 20 will be closed from approximately 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The bridge move will be escorted by the Dubuque County Sherriff law enforcement vehicles and drivers should expect delays on this route.
Should weather postpone the bridge move on Tuesday, the alternate rain date will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
