Enforcement project on June 9th, 2010 yields 79 Citations, 17 Warnings, 6 Arrests & 5 Municipal Infractions.
Area law enforcement participated in the annual “Kickoff to Summer” enforcement project on June 9th, 2010 from approximately 3:15 to 7:00 p.m. (day 2 – June 10th – was cancelled due to an unfavorable weather forecast). Agencies involved included Dubuque Police, Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, Iowa State Patrol & Dubuque Animal Control Officers. The enforcement effort resulted in 79 citations, 17 warnings, 6 arrests and 5 municipal infractions. The breakdown of violations is as follows:
32 seatbelt, 3 stop sign, 6 insurance, 3 tinted windows, 7 registration, 3 loud muffler, 3 loud stereo, 3 front plate, 5 cell phone, 2 child restraint, 5 red light, 1 careless driving & 1 tail light.
The 6 arrests were for Possession Controlled Substance (2), OWI (2), Possession Drug Paraphernalia (1- citation), Driving Under Suspension (2).
Animal Control Officers also issued 5 Municipal Infractions for dog license violations.
