The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) US 61/151 Peosta Channel Bridge Deck Overlay will begin on Monday, June 10. The project will require the complete closure of the northbound and southbound lanes, consecutively, on U.S. 61/151 from 11th St. to the Wisconsin Bridge Exit. The following closures and detours are scheduled to begin next week.
- June 10: U.S. 61/151 Lane Closures
The northbound and southbound inside lanes of U.S. 61/151 will close for the removal of median barriers. - June 17: U.S. 61/151 Northbound Lanes Closed
The northbound of U.S. 61/151 will be closed with head-to-head traffic in the southbound lanes. The southbound Kerper Blvd. on-ramp will be closed during this stage as well. - September: U.S. 61/151 Southbound Lanes Closed

The Iowa DOT expects the bridge replacement project to be finished in November 2024.
