[ARCHIVED] Special Traffic Enforcement Project Results in 36 Citations

On June 27th, 2016, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., a complaint-driven, dual-phase, traffic enforcement project was conducted on Dodge Street/Highway 20 near Seippel Road, and on the Northwest Arterial west of Highway 52 North.

Between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., officers conducted traffic enforcement on Dodge Street/Highway 20 near Seippel Road. During those 2 hours, officers wrote 10 citations for speeding, 1 citation for not having a valid driver’s license, and 1 citation for not having proof of insurance. The average speed of cited violators on Dodge Street/Highway 20 was 66.6 miles per hour in the 55 miles per hour zone.

During the latter 2 hours of the project, officers conducted enforcement on the Northwest Arterial just west of Highway 52 North. Officers wrote 22 citations for speeding, 1 citation for not having proof of insurance, and made one arrest for driving while barred. The average speed of cited violators on the Northwest Arterial for 63.1 miles per hour in the 50 miles per hour zone.

There were a total of 36 citations issued during the entire project.
