A plugged sanitary sewer pipe caused an off-road sanitary sewer manhole to overflow in the 3100 block of University Avenue, causing untreated wastewater to flow on to the ground around the manhole.
DUBUQUE, IOWA - A plugged sanitary sewer pipe caused an off-road sanitary sewer manhole to overflow in the 3100 block of University Avenue, causing untreated wastewater to flow on to the ground around the manhole.
The City of Dubuque Public Works Department crews discovered the problem at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 26. The pipe blockage was removed and flow directed back into the pipe by 12:45 p.m.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
