On August 15th, 2014, at 1:39 a.m., Dubuque Police responded to Mercy Hospital on the report of two subjects there seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. The subjects had been transported by private vehicle and their wounds were not life-threatening. They were identified as Ryan P. McMahon, 08/30/92, of 17684 S. John Deere Road and Cody Allen Richey, 10/15/90, of 1600 Butterfield Road #119. The shooting allegedly happened in the area of 20th and Elm Streets, and involved at least one suspect who is known to both McMahon and Richey. During the early stages of the investigation, both McMahon and Richey became uncooperative with police and provided minimal information. The suspect or suspects responsible remain at large and the investigation is ongoing.
