Between 3:00 p.m. on November 4th, 2013 and 7:00 a.m. on November 5th, 2013, Eagle Point Park was unlawfully entered and multiple structures and fixtures were damaged within.
Between 3:00 p.m. on November 4th, 2013 and 7:00 a.m. on November 5th, 2013, Eagle Point Park was unlawfully entered and multiple structures and fixtures were damaged within. Several locked doors were also forced, classifying some of the acts as felonious Burglary in accordance with Iowa Criminal Code.
The damage spanned both modern and historic features within the park, and included toppling a covered bench. An initial damage estimate exceeded $10,000, but final repair cost will hinge upon repairing the historical pieces to their original condition and will likely exceed the initial estimate.
The Leisure Services Department is working in conjunction with the Dubuque Police Department on this ongoing investigation.
