[ARCHIVED] Line Blockage Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A line blockage caused a Dubuque sanitary sewer to overflow, resulting in untreated wastewater flowing onto the street near the intersection of Cross Street and Coates Street.

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A line blockage caused a Dubuque sanitary sewer to overflow, resulting in untreated wastewater flowing onto the street near the intersection of Cross Street and Coates Street.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified around 11:00 a.m. this morning of a possible sanitary sewer overflow at the south west corner of Cross Street and Coates Street. Crews were dispatched to the area and the blockage removed shortly thereafter.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
