Today, Dubuque Police arrested Tanner J. Ervolino, 04/28/94, of 2759 Jackson Street Apt. C, on a charge of Burglary 1st Degree, for his involvement in the October 8th, 2012, burglary/shooting at 2759 Ventura Drive.
Today, Dubuque Police arrested Tanner J. Ervolino, 04/28/94, of 2759 Jackson Street Apt. C, on a charge of Burglary 1st Degree, for his involvement in the October 8th, 2012, burglary/shooting at 2759 Ventura Drive (the residence of 20 year old Lyle R. Young). After being treated at Mercy Hospital for gunshot wounds inflicted during the burglary (by Alfonso Faison, 22, of Dubuque) Ervolino was immediately taken into police custody. He is being held in the Dubuque County Jail pending an initial court appearance on the above charge. Burglary 1st Degree is a Class B Felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Ervolino’s associate present during the burglary has been identified as James D. Welbes Jr. 10/26/93 of 1472 Marjorie Circle, Dubuque. Welbes was arrested on October 9th, 2012, on a Probation Violation warrant (original charge: Dist./Mfg./Poss. of Controlled Substance). Welbes remains in the Dubuque County Jail.
Additionally, as part of this investigation, on October 10th, 2012, Young was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (within 1000’ of a school). He was released the same day following his initial appearance.
Lastly, following Faison’s admission to using marijuana, his permit to carry weapons was suspended by Dubuque County Sheriff Don Vrotsos. The investigation remains ongoing with additional charges possible.
