[ARCHIVED] Line Blockage Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow in Dubuque

A line blockage caused a DBQ sanitary sewer to overflow, resulting in untreated wastewater flowing onto the ground around a sewer manhole near 55 John F. Kennedy Road.

DUBUQUE, IOWA – A line blockage caused a Dubuque sanitary sewer to overflow, resulting in untreated wastewater flowing onto the ground around a sewer manhole near 55 John F. Kennedy Road.

The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified around 2:30 this afternoon of a sanitary sewer overflow in the grass area located between Dodge Street and 55 John F. Kennedy Road. Crews were dispatched to the area and the blockage removed shortly thereafter.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
