Large Item Pick-Up

The City of Dubuque offers collection of large items, including electronics, for a fee. Schedule a collection online or call 563-589-4250. Collections are preferably done on your regular trash collection day. Collections on a different day cost an additional $20. All items must be set out to the curb or alley line by 6 a.m. on the day of collection, but not more than 24 hours prior to collection.

Fees

Landfilled material
Examples include extra trash, furniture, or other large items that do not fit into your trash cart.

  • Equivalent of 10-12 kitchen trash bags or about the size of an average couch - $13

Recyclable Materials

  • Appliances - $20 each
  • TVs and monitors - $20 each
  • Small-corded items (VCRs, keyboards, vacuums, fans, cables, chargers, speakers, etc.) - $6 per pickup
  • Automobile tires - $6 each
  • Large metal material (grills, bed rails, etc.) - $6 per pick-up

Payment

Fees are charged to the customer’s utility billing account. If the utility account is not in your name, please call Public Works at 563-589-4250 to schedule an appointment. In situations where the landlord pays the utilities, tenants must pre-pay at the Utility Billing counter at City Hall at 50 W. 13th St. 

Drop-off Electronics Recycling

Residents may also drop off electronics by appointment at the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency Facility located at 101 Airborne Rd. For more information on fees and to make the required appointment, please visit www.dmaswa.org/electronics
