Large Item Pick-Up

The City of Dubuque offers collection of large items, including electronics, for a fee. Schedule a collection online below or call 563.589.4250. Collections are done on your regular trash collection day.  If scheduled on a different day, a charge of $15 will apply.




Landfilled material
(extra trash, furniture, or other large items)
Equivalent of 10-12 kitchen trash bags (or about the size of an average couch) - $13
Recyclable Materials
Appliances - $20 each

TVs, laptops, and monitors - $20 each

Automobile tires - $6 each

Small electronics (VCRs, DVD players, keyboards, cables, chargers, 
speakers, etc.) $5 per pickup


Fees are charged to the customer’s utility billing account. In situations where the landlord pays the utilities, tenants must pre-pay at the Utility Billing counter at City Hall at 50 W. 13th St. 

All items must be set out to the curb or alley line by 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection, but not more than 24 hours prior to collection.

Drop-off Electronics Recycling

Residents are still able to drop off electronics for recycling at Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (landfill) at 101 Airborne Rd. for $15 per screen. Other non-screen electronics and accessories may be dropped off at no charge.
