Olde Davenport Rd. Connection at US61/151 Closing Permanently on Oct. 9
Iowa DOT News Release
Construction work on the new Southwest Arterial entrance ramp to U.S. 61/U.S. 151 in Dubuque will require permanently closing the Olde Davenport Road connection to U.S. 61/U.S. 151 at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office.
On Friday, Nov. 8, Olde Davenport Road, Elmwood Drive, and East Tamarack Drive will have access through the new interchange of the Southwest Arterial and U.S. 61/U.S. 151. Although the new interchange with U.S. 61/U.S. 151 will open Nov. 8, the Southwest Arterial will not open until summer 2020.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
