Heavy Rain Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflows

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The heavy rain events of the last two nights caused sanitary sewer overflows on West Locust Street and Rosedale Avenue. 

The City of Dubuque Public Works staff discovered that manholes overflowed during the rain event on Wednesday and Thursday in and near the intersection of Rosedale Avenue and West Locust Street.   At this time, it is undetermined when the overflows ended on Wednesday.  On Thursday night, the overflows ended by 11:30 p.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for 48 hours.
