New CityChannel Dubuque Programming

We have several new programs on CityChannel Dubuque and on the City’s website.

Premiering Saturday (August 17) at 7:30 p.m. is our annual video on the new Art on the River outdoor sculpture exhibition.  This year’s show follows the “Mississippi Magnified” theme and has, for the first time, a virtual sculpture (near the Grand River Center overlook on the river walk is a sign with instructions to download an app and view the piece).

Sunday (August 18) at 9:30 p.m. will be the premiere of the Bee Branch Creek Railroad Culverts Project Kick-Off event that was recorded earlier this month.  This is a critical phase in the overall flood mitigation project as large culverts will be “micro-tunneled” under the railroad tracks and allow more water to move more quickly from the upper Bee Branch Creek to the lower creek.

Closed captions should be available for these two programs sometime next week.

We tested some new time lapse camera systems recently and have two short videos now airing that are fun to watch.  Ice Harbor Time Lapse will next air tonight (Friday, August 16) at 11:30 p.m. with video recorded from our camera placed on the Ice Harbor flood gate structure looking at the marina.  Fast Forward Lighted Boat Parade (next airing Saturday, August 17, at 9:30 a.m.) features two cameras on the Ice Harbor flood gate structure:  one looking at the marina and the other looking out at the river.

All the programs discussed in this notice are now available online.
