Arrest Made in Dubuque Shootings

On July 9, 2019, at approximately 11:32 PM, the Dubuque Police Department responded to the area of Foye St and West Locust St for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located several 9-mm shell casings.
A review of camera footage from City of Dubuque traffic cameras and private security cameras in the area showed a subject, later identified as Josiah D. Lee, 21, of Dubuque, running to a vehicle while being chased by the suspect in the case who was shooting at him.
The suspect was later identified as Isaiah D. Bogovich, 17, of Dubuque. Bogovich was charged as an adult with Attempted Murder (Class B Felony) for this case.
Isaiah Bogovich was also identified as the suspect of a shooting that occurred on July 15, 2019, at approximately 12:55 AM, in the area of 515 Pickett St in Dubuque.
Officers responded to that location for a report of shots fired and the investigation determined that Bogovich shot at 515 Pickett St several times before getting into a vehicle that left the area. While in the vehicle, Bogovich accidentally discharged his firearm and shot Randy F. Jackson, 18, of Cascade, IA, in the back. Jackson was transported to Mercy Hospital by the Dubuque Fire Department for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Officers observed bullet holes in the windows and siding of 515 Pickett St and found several 9-mm shell casings across the street from the residence. Josiah Lee was present at 515 Pickett St at the time of the shooting.
Bogovich was charged as an adult with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C Felony), Reckless Use of Firearm causing Bodily Injury (Class D Felony), and Going Armed with Intent (Class D Felony) for the shooting on July 15.
Bogovich turned himself in today on warrants for these charges and is currently being held in the Dubuque County Jail.
A Class B Felony is punishable by no more than 25 years of confinement.
A Class C Felony is punishable by no more than 10 years of confinement.
A Class D Felony is punishable by no more than 5 years of confinement.
