June 10, 2019 -- For Immediate Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Dubuque residents and stakeholders are being urged to get involved and help make “Imagine Dubuque 2037: A Call to Action,” the community’s comprehensive plan, a reality.

The Imagine Dubuque plan was adopted by the Dubuque City Council in September 2017 after an extensive, informed, and inclusive community engagement campaign.  It reflects the values and goals expressed by Dubuque residents and stakeholders, outlines the community’s goals, and establishes a framework of partnership and collaboration for successful implementation.  More than 6,000 people provided input to develop the plan.

Some of the recommendations and ideas in the plan are already being implemented by a variety of groups, organizations, and individuals, but many others need action.  The public is invited to get involved with efforts in progress or to organize with others and initiate projects about which they are passionate.

An “Action Toolkit” with starter resources has been developed to assist in the process.  Those interested in learning more about opportunities to get involved are encouraged to visit the Imagine Dubuque booth at any of the following events:
