On 05/13/19 at approximately 6:56 PM, the Dubuque Police Department responded to the area of E. 18th St and White St for a report of shots fired.  Officers arrived on scene and recovered several shell casings.

Through witness’s statements and a review of traffic camera footage, investigators were able to determine that a tan Buick Park Avenue drove through the area prior to the shooting and parked in the 1800 block of White St.  Two juvenile suspects exited the vehicle and began walking in the alley between the 1800 blocks of White St and Jackson St.  The juvenile suspects approached a juvenile victim who was standing behind 1815 Jackson St.  The suspects charged the juvenile victim and fired several shots at him.  The victim was not injured.  The suspects then fled the area in the Buick.

The registered owner of the Buick resides at 2017 University Ave #3.  Officers located the vehicle parked outside the residence.  The two juvenile suspects eventually exited the residence and were detained.  Officers applied for and executed a search warrant at 2017 University Ave #3 and located a .22 LR pistol.  The shell casings located at the scene of the shooting were also .22 caliber.

Jamar D. Little (17) was identified as one of the suspects and has been charged as an adult with Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony.  Little was arrested yesterday in Davenport, IA.

A Class B Felony is punishable by no more than 25 years of incarceration.
