Summer Fun at the Bee Branch Creek Greenway

Looking for activities for your kids to do this summer? The City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department is offering several youth programs for kids ages 6 to 14 at the Bee Branch Creek Greenway. See the listing below! 

Register online at www.cityofdubuque.org/recreation or in-person at 2200 Bunker Hill Rd. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. For questions, call 563.589.4263.

The Bee Branch Creek Greenway is a great spot to walk, bike, play with friends, read a book, do yoga, play catch, have a picnic, and just hang out! So make sure to unplug, take a break, and get out into nature this summer! 

Busy Bees

Wednesday, June 19  |  9 – 11 a.m.
Lower Bee Branch (1553 Maple St.)
Age: 6-12 yrs. 

Learn all about the life cycle of a Honey Bee and what makes these unique pollinators so special. Dissect a flower, learn different uses for honey, and discover how to communicate like a bee.

Habitat Hangout

Age: 6-12 yrs. 

Can you spot the frog? All creatures require different habitats and several skills. Come find out how animals hide, build homes and survive in the wild.

Edible Scavenger Hunt

Bee Branch Amphitheater (2301 Prince St.) 
Age: 9-14 yrs.

Learn, identify and discover some of the edible plants located in the Bee Branch. We will have a blast going on a scavenger hunt to find what edibles are available and have a taste test of some of the locally produced fruits and vegetables. 

Nature Art

Come join us for art exploration through nature. Get your hands dirty with mud painting, create a seed mosaic and incorporate nature into a work of art!
