Dubuque Police Investigate Fatal Accident (Update)

On 04/06/19 at approximately 11:38 AM, the Dubuque Police Department responded to the area of University Ave and Finley St for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and found that Mary F. Bockenstedt, 84, of Dubuque, was backing a 1998 Buick LeSabre out of a private driveway on Finley St when she struck her husband, Walter E. Bockenstedt, 82, who was behind her vehicle. Walter became pinned under the vehicle and died at the scene. The accident scene was processed and the case remains under investigation by the department’s Technical Accident Investigators.
