Clogged Sewer Line Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A clogged sanitary sewer line on Saunders Street caused untreated wastewater to flow onto the street and into the storm sewer system.
 
The City of Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the plugged line around 7:30 a.m. this morning (Wednesday, November 7). Crews worked to remove the blockage and flow was directed back into the pipe by 8:30 a.m. 
 
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
