Intersections on 22nd St. Opening Thursday, Sept. 27

The intersections of 22nd St. and Washington St. and 22nd St. and Jackson St. are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 27. Both intersections closed this summer due to construction of Bee Branch-related storm sewer capacity improvements. 

The 22nd St. project consists of a new concrete storm sewer along E. 22nd St. from Elm St. to Central Ave. continuing up Kaufmann Ave. to Kane Street. Several large, high-capacity and standard single-grate storm drains are being installed. It also involves total street and sidewalk reconstruction and the relocation of underground utilities along the entire length of the project.
