Public Invited to Community Open House for Dubuque Solar Garden

DUBUQUE, Iowa – September 20, 2018 – Solar energy and sustainability will be on full display during a special community open house at Alliant Energy’s Dubuque Solar Garden. The public is invited to this free event on Wednesday, October 3.
Alliant Energy’s Dubuque Solar project is generating clean, sustainable energy in the heart of Dubuque. The downtown location features more than 3,500 solar panels and generates enough energy to power 126 homes a year. On September 29, the solar garden will mark one year of operation.
During the open house, experts will be on hand to explain the project and its unique story of sustainability. Hear from the City of Dubuque, project consultant HDR, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, and Alliant Energy.  Visitors can also see how this land is also providing a critically needed habitat for pollinators like bees and butterflies.
Light refreshments will be provided.
