Premiere of Dubuque Skate Parking Groundbreaking Video
Earlier this week, a crowd of people gathered in Flora Park in order to break ground for the new skate park which is the result of a partnership between KIDS (Kids in Dubuque Skate), the City's Leisure Services Department, and other stakeholders. CityChannel Dubuque cameras were there to record the event, and the resulting program will premiere tonight (Friday, July 20) at 8 p.m. (on Mediacom cable channel 8 or digital 117.2 & on the City's website). The program is about 18 minutes long. Construction of the skate park officially begins on Monday, July 23, and we hope to cover the grand opening later this year.
This is the second year the Cable TV Division has been producing monthly construction updates for the Southwest Arterial/US 52 project. Recently we've received special waivers from the Federal Aeronautics Administration (FAA) to fly our drone in the project corridor, the entirety of which is in restricted airspace surrounding Dubuque Regional Airport. The update that begins airing in August will incorporate some drone video which gives a pretty good perspective on the project.
