April 3, 2018 -- For Immediate Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department is excited to announce the development of a new mini park and is inviting residents and stakeholders to provide input on the project.

Creek Wood Park will be a 1.87-acre mini park located at 1792 and 1798 Creek Wood Drive. The land for the park was donated to the City by North Cascade Road Developers, LLC, and Fehr Graham Engineering and Environmental has been hired for the design and construction management services for the park.

The leisure services department invites the public to a “Drop-In Input Session” on the park’s draft master plan and play equipment on Tuesday, April 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Aigler Auditorium at the Carnegie-Stout Public Library, 360 W. 11th St.  Residents are welcome to drop in any time during these hours.  City staff and representatives of Fehr Graham will answer questions and record feedback related to the park’s draft master plan and play equipment options.

Four play equipment options are under consideration for the park and displays of each will be available to view at the input session.  Each option includes a play structure, swing, and see-saw or teeter totter component.  Attendees will have the opportunity to review these options and vote for their favorite.

Those interested but unable to attend the input session are encouraged to visit the Creek Wood Park webpage at www.cityofdubuque.org/creekwood. The webpage includes links to the draft master plan, additional information about the park, and renderings/examples of play equipment options.  Leisure services staff encourage families to review all four play equipment options with children and place their votes as well.  One vote allowed per person.  Those interested in the project are encouraged to share the link with others who would like to vote. The deadline for online voting is noon on Wednesday, April 11.
