Nov. 27, 2017 – For Immediate Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The City of Dubuque will host a public information meeting this Thursday for residents interested in learning about the planned roundabout at North Grandview Avenue and University Avenue. The Dubuque City Council and Iowa Department of Transportation have approved plans to convert the intersection to a single-lane roundabout.
The public information meeting will be held this Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s Living Faith Center at 1755 Delhi St. City engineering staff and the project consultant will be available for questions during that time. A 30-minute presentation will be given beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The North Grandview Avenue/University Avenue roundabout is being designed to work in conjunction with the existing roundabout to the south and the new traffic signals project to the north at North Grandview Avenue and Loras Boulevard. The City plans to begin construction of the roundabout in early June 2018 after schools break for the summer and plans to have the majority completed before school resumes in August. The project will require some traffic disruptions but North Grandview Avenue will remain open to northbound and southbound traffic throughout construction. Access to the businesses around the intersection and the fire station will be maintained throughout the entire project.
