INCIDENT TYPE: Garage Fire
ADDRESS/LOCATION: Rear of 1218 Lincoln Avenue - Dubuque
The Dubuque Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:33 AM from a citizen reporting his garage was on fire. The Dubuque Fire Department was dispatched to the scene within 26 seconds. Initial responding vehicles included Engine 6, Battalion 1, Engine 1, Truck 1, Medic 1, Engine 3, and Truck 4. The response brought 17 firefighters in total for the fire.
Engine 6 arrived on scene within a minute and a half of dispatch reporting fire coming the garage to the rear of the residence. Engine 6 declared they were deploying a portable master stream and requested the next engine connect a fire hydrant. Battalion 1 arrived to the alley rear and established Lincoln Command declaring a working fire. Two fire hoses was charged with water and stretched back to the garage. The Engine 6 crew had water on the flames within four minutes of arrival. DPD officers confirmed the two occupants were accounted for. The fire fight took sixteen minutes to extinguish. The fire cause was determined to be an unattended and recently stoked woodburning stove. Losses were estimated at $40,200 with the garage a total loss.
The Dubuque Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Dubuque Police Department. There were no injuries to responders reported.
