City of Dubuque Public Works Department to Host 'Touch a Truck' Event at Dubuque Farmers' Market on Saturday, May 24
MAY 21, 2025
In celebration of National Public Works Week, Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanagh has declared May 18-24, as Public Works Week in Dubuque in recognition of the contributions of public works professionals to the community.
The City of Dubuque’s public works professionals work in departments that provide clean drinking water, stormwater and sewer management, engineering services, and trash and recycling collection. They also maintain the City’s street infrastructure, riverfront property and floodwall, landfill, and public parks facilities. They are, in short, the people who keep the city running by providing services vital to the community’s health, safety, and comfort.
In celebration, the City of Dubuque Public Works Department will host a ‘Touch a Truck’ event at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 24. The public will be able to view multiple pieces of public works equipment, including a dump truck, backhoe, mini excavator, and an asphalt roller. The equipment will be positioned on 11th St. on either side of its intersection with Iowa St.
