Public Invited to Share Input on Next City Budget

Dubuque residents and stakeholders are invited to share their input on the next City budget as City of Dubuque staff prepare the City’s budget for fiscal year (FY) 2026, which runs July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
The public is invited to attend a public input meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the City Council Chambers at the Historic Federal Building, 350 W. Sixth St. City Manager Mike Van Milligen and Finance and Budget Department staff will provide general information on the budget process before meeting attendees will be able to share their thoughts on what they would like to see funded in their neighborhoods and the community at-large.
Input will be reviewed by staff and used in the development of a recommended FY 2026 budget to be submitted to the City Council in late March 2025. The City Council will then consider the recommended budget. The public will have additional opportunities to offer input during seven public meetings in April. A final budget must be adopted by April 30.
